Google Calendar GCal and Outlook : meeting invite incompatibility

Google Calendar Sync (Gmail / free), Google Apps Sync (Google Apps for Business) and gSyncit are all tools to enable users to sync their Microsoft Outlook and Google Calendars.

There are issues are with how these (2) competing systems handle meeting invites.

• Setup a meeting in Outlook, and the Outlook system sends meeting invites
• Setup a meeting in Google (web interface), and the Google system sends meeting invites
• When tools (listed above) sync up the calendars, the other platform sporadicaly sends another meeting invite (including one to YOU who originally setup the meeting).

Internet search results show widespread confusion and frustration without real solutions.

The most reasonable solution is to not sync GCal and Outlook.
